Glass Options
How well a frame both protects and enhances the appearance of your artwork will be determined by your choice of glass.
"Clear Float" and "Diffused" glass, sometimes referred to as "Anti Glare" glass, have been the most familiar types of glass used in picture framing . These options, however, may not display your photograph or artwork to best effect and do little to protect it from the damaging effects of ultra violet light. For example, the UV filter rating of float glass is approximately 47% compared to a minimum rating of 97% required for Conservation grade glass.
We can offer a full range of glass options and advise on which are the most appropriate for your requirements. To help you with this decision, we have prepared some demonstration frames that show different options alongside standard float glass.
By far the majority of customers to date have chosen an option other than the basic glass when they have seen and grown to appreciate the extra value they can get from the other options.
